From my perspective, a provider’s bedside manner should focus on the three Ps: being prompt, personable and practical. These are qualities I always try to consider. My patients have busy lives and they are looking to me for answers in a timely fashion. I respect that. I enjoy forming relationships with the people I meet and getting to know their families. I also feel that it’s important to partner with my patients and fully involve them in the decision-making process when it comes to their plan of care – we’re in this together.
