Doctors Provide Care to Entire Family

Family Physicians Can Care for Mom, Dad and Baby

Choosing the right doctor can sometimes be a challenge for women. You want someone to provide you with regular medical care, but you also might be thinking about getting pregnant or may be pregnant already. Some women opt to have two doctors – one for general healthcare concerns and one for OB-GYN care – while others may see an OB-GYN.

ThedaCare Physicians has several family doctors who also provide obstetrics care, so you only need one doctor to meet all of your medical needs. Family physicians can take care of your annual physical needs, such as check your cholesterol, blood pressure and vaccination records. And these same doctors offer gynecological and obstetrical care, such as annual pap smears and caring for the mother and fetus during pregnancy. These doctors also deliver babies at ThedaCare’s hospitals! Many women enjoy having someone they are so familiar with providing care at such an important time in their life.

After baby arrives, having a family doctor has another benefit – your new baby can also have the same doctor as you do, which leads to a stronger relationship between yourself and your healthcare team.
