Former ThedaCare Behavioral Health Director Takes on New Role
Mary Downs is the new system vice president for ThedaCare’s Spine and Orthopedic business lines.
Downs spent the past three years as executive director of ThedaCare Behavioral Health. During that time, Downs helped double the number of psychiatric providers, led the expansion of the inpatient behavioral health unit at Theda Clark Medical Center, and was integral in bringing together ThedaCare, Affinity and Children’s Hospital in the creation of Catalpa Health pediatric behavioral health.
In her new role, Downs will provide strategic and customer-focused leadership of the spine and orthopedic business lines. She will also oversee operations of ThedaCare Orthopedics Plus.
Before joining ThedaCare, Downs worked at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans for 22 years in a variety of roles. She earned her bachelor’s degree in managerial accounting from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and has dual master’s degrees in counseling and educational leadership from UW-Oshkosh.
