Inpatient Rehabilitation Program Honored for Past 30 Years

Theda Clark Medical Center’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit recently received a three-year accreditation from CARF International, marking 30 consecutive years of the unit being acknowledged for its high quality services and high patient satisfaction rankings.

The inpatient rehab unit at Theda Clark treats patients who are frequently recovering from a stroke, brain injury or spinal code injury. The unit has been CARF accredited since 1982.

CARF International is an independent, accrediting body of health and human services. Hospitals can receive a one- or three-year accreditation and Theda Clark received the three-year accreditation, said Sara Kloes, business unit manager of Theda Clark’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.

“By remaining CARF accredited, we demonstrate our commitment to continuously improve our service quality, encourage feedback, and serve our community,” she said.

Units receiving the three-year accreditation complete a rigorous peer review process and go through on an on-site visit to demonstrate that its programs and services are measurable, accountable and of the highest quality possible.
