With more than 100 years of service to the Fox Valley, Theda Clark Medical Center is recognized throughout the state of Wisconsin for its innovation and quality of care. Some of the many area "firsts" at Theda Clark include:
- ThedaStar, the first air medical helicopter service in the state outside of Madison and Milwaukee.
- The area's only Level II trauma center verified by the American College of Surgeons.
- The first area hospital to provide single-room maternity suites.
- Specialty services including a Stroke Center; rehabilitation facilities; Eye Center; and, the Aylward Surgery Center.
Theda Clark Medical Center traces its history to the early 1900s when a young Neenah woman, Theda Clark Peters, died at home following childbirth. Realizing the need for a local hospital, her brother donated money to the community to build a hospital. The facility, which has undergone many expansions and renovations since its initial construction in 1909.
It is situated on the Fox River overlooking Lake Winnebago.
With 250 licensed beds, it is one of the largest acute care facilities in the area. Theda Clark Medical Center is also the home of the Theda Clark School of Radiologic Technology.
