There are many conditions associated with the brain and spine. Headaches are the most common complaint that many people have. Headaches can range from a short-lived annoyance to those that can cause chronic problems, like migraines. There are three categories that headaches fall into, they are: tension-type, migraine or cluster.
Tension-type headaches can produce mild to moderate pain in your head. For many cases of headaches there is no true cause, although many headaches can be attributed to stress, depression, or even being hungry.
More than three times more women than men, or 28 million Americans suffer from migraines. Migraines have many symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound, and a throbbing or pulsating pain.
Cluster headaches involve a stabbing pain in one side of the head. Though they do not happen to many people, they are very painful when they do occur. They are much less common than migraines, but pain is considerably worse.
Some common conditions associated with the brain that many people have are: Alzheimer’s disease, autism, tumors, dyslexia, epilepsy and many more. Some conditions associated with the spinal cord include: meningitis, inflamed spinal cord or Transverse Myelitis, cysts on the spinal cord or Syringomyelia, and many more.
