Transient Ischemic Attack - TIA

A Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA or mini-stroke) is when the blood flow through an artery is blocked or reduces for a short time. Symptoms resolve in less than 24 hours

What are the symptoms of a TIA? TIAs have the same symptoms as a stroke.  

What should you do if you have symptoms?  
Get to the hospital immediately!!!

A serious disabling stroke can occur with 24-48 hours after a TIA.
* Roughly 10 to 20 percent of individuals who experience a TIA will suffer a bigger stroke
     within 90 days.

 What can I do to decrease my risk of having a TIA or stroke?
 
* Know and modify your risk factors for stroke
  * See your physician regularly
