Pilots & Mechanics

PHI Air Medical

Aircraft services including pilots and mechanics are provided through contract with PHI Air Medical

Pilots:

  • Minimum of 2000 hours of rotorwing experience (at least 500 turbine)
  • Commercial and Instrument Certified
  • Instrument Rating
  • NVG Qualified

Mechanics:

  • Factory Certified
  • Dedicated coverage 24/7 to ThedaStar
  • All aircraft components are routinely inspected, overhauled or replaced at defined intervals
  • Daily aircraft inspections and preventative maintenance

 

Vinnie Mastropieri, ThedaStar Lead Pilot

Vinnie has been with ThedaStar since September of 2008 and with PHI since May of 2007.  His previous experience includes:

  • 911 Dispatcher
  • EMT/Firefighter
  • Marine Patrol Officer
  • Airplane Flight Instructor
  • Helicopter Flight Instructor
  • Oil & Gas Pilot in Gulf of Mexico
  • EMS Pilot in New Orleans, LA

Certifications include:

  • Commercial Airplane Single- and Multi-engine land
  • Instrument Airplane
  • Flight Instructor Airplane Single- and Multi- Engine Land and Rotorcraft Helicopter
  • Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane and Rotorcraft Helicopter

During his time off from ThedaStar Vinnie flies a 23 seater Dash 6 Twin Otter airplane, single pilot, under a military for the US Navy Seals Tactical Air Operations in San Diego, CA.

Nicolaus Highfill, ThedaStar Pilot

Nic joined ThedaStar in February of 2009 and has worked with PHI since March of 2007.  His credentials include:  CPL/Inst Helo CFI/CFII

His past experience includes:

  • Flight Instructor - Rotorcraft Helicopter/Instrument Helicopter, Civic Helicopters:  2005-2007
  • Captain VFR/First Officer IFR, PHI Inc. Oil and Gas, Amelia, LA:  2007-2009

Charles (Chuck) Pulver, ThedaStar Pilot

Chuck has been with ThedaStar since September of 2008 and with PHI since May of 2008.  He is a certified Airline transport pilot and also holds certifications in Commercial-Airplane Multi-Engine Land, Private-Single Engine Land and Instrument Airplane.

His past experience includes:

  • 21 years active duty military
  • 4 years U.S.M.C. as a jet mechanic
  • 17 years as a Warrant Officer in the US Army flying Scout Helicopters as a Standardization Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner

Ron Ries, ThedaStar Pilot

Pilot

Ron has been a pilot with ThedaStar since February of 2005. 

Certifications include:

  • Commercial-Airplane Single & Multi-Engine Land

  • Instrument Airplane and Helicopter
  • Glider

Jim Seeliger, ThedaStar Lead Mechanic

Jim has been with ThedaStar since August of 1997 and has been with PHI from 1984-2001 and June of 2008 to present. 

Certification:  Airframe and Powerplant license

Previous Experience:

  • 5 years U.S.A.F Helicopter Technician
  • 18 years PHI, Inc. Helicopter Lead Mechanic
  • 7 Years CJ Systems Aviation Group Lead Mechanic / Site Manager
