Careers - School of Radiology

Requirements

Information Sessions

Theda Clark School of Radiologic Technology
169 E.N. Waters Street
Neenah, WI 54956

Information sessions are required prior to the job shadow and application process. These information sessions are held at the radiology school.

During this session, a faculty instructor will explain the position and responsibilities of a radiographer. Your instructors will cover the program highlights, as well as what is expected, if you are accepted to the program.

Following the information session, the instructors will provide a question and answer session, which typically lasts 60 minutes. Upon completion of the informational session, you will receive a certificate of completion.

This certificate is required for application into the program and a possible chance to job shadow.

To schedule an informational session, please visit the Classes and Events page for dates and times available. You must be pre-registered to attend.

Parking Directions for Informational Sessions

Theda Clark Radiology School is located across the street from Theda Clark Hospital. You will want to park in the parking lot that is designated F(S3) at the hospital. If this section is full, you may park in G3.

Directions to the school from the Theda Clark parking lot:

  • You will want to use the cross walk at the "round-about" at the corner of First and North, east of Water Street.
  • Across First Street is a small brick building on the corner. This is the correct place.
  • The school is around back in the lower level of this building. There will be a sign on the door that says Theda Clark School of Radiologic Technology. Come on in, go down the hall and take a seat in the classroom.

Job Shadowing

Due to the large amount of prospective radiography students applying for job shadows, the Theda Clark School of Radiologic Technology has a job shadow policy for the safety and confidentiality of our patients.

Shadows will only be given under any of the following circumstances:

  • High school students who have attended an informational session or have had an instructor visit their class.  They will also need to complete a job shadow application along with the essay prior to the program offering a shadow.
  • To radiology school applicants who submit a completed program application, which includes mandatory attendance of informational session.

Upon review of applications, applicants will be notified if they will be scheduled for a shadow.

If accepted into the shadow program, we will require proof of the following immunizations for the safety of our patients:

  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Rubella

Your family doctor's office should have immunization records. You will also be required to sign a confidentiality form stating that everything you will see must be in strict confidentiality for the privacy of our patient

If the applicant is denied a shadow opportunity, he/she will be advised as to what he/she would need to do to better their chances of acceptance into the program in the future.

We recommend shadowing more than one facility to be sure this is the career for you. This is not a requirement but if you would choose to and you are accepted into the program, you have the option to shadow at Theda Clark Medical Center and/or Appleton Medical Center. Any other non-ThedaCare facility shadow will need to be set-up through that hospital by the prospective student. Most organizations welcome students in their research.

We apologize for any inconvenience but feel that this will be in the best interest of our patients.
