Riverside Medical Center Opens Clinic at Waupaca Fitness Center
Waupaca-area patients in need of physical therapy have a new and convenient option: the Riverside Medical Center Physical Therapy Clinic adjacent to Health and Fitness Headquarters along Highway 22 in Waupaca. The new clinic occupies an 1,100-square-foot suite attached to the fitness center, N2610 State Road 22, and is an expansion to RMC’s rehabilitation and physical therapy department.
The new clinic, staffed by RMC physical therapists and physical therapy assistants, is slated to officially open Aug. 2.
“It’s really convenient for high school athletes and people recovering from sprains and strains or knee surgery,” said Bruce Pierson, RMC’s rehab services manager. “This will offer our patients quicker access to care and allow us to better meet their needs.”
When appropriate, patients will use the fitness center’s equipment as part of their physical therapy exercises. “When they are finished with their formal rehab, they can keep going to the fitness center,” added Pierson. “There is a lot better carry over which is great for the patient.”
Randy O’Connell, general manager of Health and Fitness Headquarters, said he and his staff are pleased to have the new physical therapy clinic on site.
“We look forward to the cross traffic to both facilities,” O’Connell said. “It benefits patients as well as both businesses.” Riverside Medical Center is a 25-bed acute-care, critical access hospital located in Waupaca.
