Wolf River Area Healthcare Foundation Presents Annual Event

The Wolf River Area Healthcare Foundation is pleased to announce its 2010 annual Family Movie Night on Aug. 3 at New London High School outdoor commons area. This year’s feature presentation is the Oscar nominated film “Up” by Disney-Pixar.

Movie Night is a community-wide family event designed for friends and neighbors to come out and enjoy some fun activities and entertainment. Festivities will begin at 6:30 pm with the movie showing at dusk. Guests will enjoy complimentary popcorn and have the opportunity to purchase healthy snacks at a nominal cost.

This year’s schedule is focused on living a healthy lifestyle and making healthy choices. An educational cooking demonstration will feature ThedaCare Executive Chef Larry London. There will be a special visit from the New London Family Medical Center Ambulance and the ThedaStar Hummer. Ages young and old alike will be treated to the sounds of DJ Sonic Boom, enjoy hands on learning activities and participate in various fun and games. All designed to get you “Up” and moving!

The Wolf River Area Healthcare Foundation was founded in 2003. Its goal is to support the mission and vision of New London Family Medical Center and the communities it serves. As the philanthropic partner, WRAHF works to secure financial resources that ensure NLFMC has state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, outreach and education. Over $2.1 million has been raised to enhance strategic initiatives of the hospital that directly enhance the healthcare within the community.

New London Family Medical Center is a 25-bed, critical access hospital serving New London and nearby communities in Outagamie and Waupaca counties. The hospital, which has been in operation since 1930 and is part of ThedaCare, provides inpatient and outpatient surgery; a 24-hour emergency department; physical, occupational and speech therapies; diagnostic services including laboratory and imaging; pain management; transitional care; and a ThedaCare At Home retail store. A hospital expansion opened in 2010.
