Wherever You Are, ThedaCare is There Today - and Tomorrow

    Posted 18 November 2013 12:00 AM by TCAuthor3

I read the headlines just like you do. When the Affordable Care Act (ACA) goes into full effect some analysts predict there will be doctor shortages, mass physician retirements, longer waiting times and more. I think it’s time to step back, calm down and look at the facts.

Using Electronic Connections to Improve Care

    Posted 12 November 2013 12:00 AM by TCAuthor3

One of the core components of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is collaborating with you on your care, staying more connected internally and externally to help keep you healthy. We believe so strongly in the power of those connections, that we invested in a powerful EMR many years ago.

The ACA Says, "Get Connected." Guess What? We Already Are.

    Posted 5 November 2013 12:00 AM by TCAuthor3

Electronic health records (EHR) have transformed how we connect with patients and deliver better care. At ThedaCare, we’re ahead of other organizations because we put our EHR in place more than a decade ago – long before the Affordable Care Act was a twinkle in a legislators’ eye. What that means for you is that you can rest assured that no matter where you live in the region, we’re trained and ready to go. We’re proud to be name one of Hospital and Health Networks “Most Wired” for 12 straight years.

Lets Focus on Prevention - it's the Best Kind of Care

    Posted 21 October 2013 12:00 AM by TCAuthor3

We think the focus on prevention is spot on. As much as we enjoy seeing you, we really want to see you well – not in our hospitals. We hope you feel the same way and that’s why we’re sticklers for things like mammograms, colonoscopies and annual health screenings. We also stress the importance of exercise, sleep and diet for a healthy lifestyle. The ACA takes the preventative measures we have in place to new levels.

A Primer on What Businesses Should Know About the New World of Health Insurance

    Posted 17 October 2013 12:00 AM by TCAuthor3

Three-and-a-half years after President Barack Obama signed the Affordable Care Act many people are still confused about what it means for businesses – especially small businesses which are economic engines in many of the communities in northeast Wisconsin. I’m sure the political infighting about the law isn’t helping – some days it’s hard to know what to believe. I’m going to do my best to sift through the dirt and help you sort out what changes, if any, you might need to make in the next few months.

Be Well. Preventative Care with a Heart.

    Posted 15 October 2013 12:00 AM by TCAuthor3

I thoroughly enjoy working with our patients in the small communities of northeastern Wisconsin. They are from the “work hard, play hard” philosophy that makes the Midwest strong. Some parts of the country call it “Midwest Stubborn,” but there’s nothing like it when you need to get something done. When the next layers of the healthcare law go into effect in January, I’m confident our patients will be on board with one of the most important things for them and their families – preventative care.

Changes Surround Us This Fall as Healthcare Reform Moves to Center Stage

    Posted 2 October 2013 12:00 AM by TCAuthor3

I really enjoy October in Wisconsin. It’s a month of transitions – going from summer to fall. As I read the news yesterday, I realized that October will be a time of new transitions for everyone in healthcare – patients and providers. New provisions of the healthcare reform law kick in that may mean changes for your healthcare insurance and the care you receive.
