Therapy Groups & Events
Many times, the behavioral health specialist you work with may recommend group counseling sessions as a part of your treatment plan.
Groups focus on a variety of different behavioral health areas, including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, as well as areas in need of more specialized support, such as patients who are preparing for bariatric surgery, or coping with cancer, chronic pain, or post-partum depression. We also provide groups and workshops for parents, children, and adolescents.
What Are Group Sessions Like?
Led by a trained therapist, groups are typically held at our locations that provide behavioral health services. The room you’ll be in will have chairs or couches, so you can feel comfortable and relaxed. The people in your group will be dealing with the same type of issues as you, so you aren’t likely to feel judged or embarrassed.
Some groups are ongoing—so you can join at any time—while others run for a 6-8 week period, which means you’ll need to register in advance. Most groups meet once a week.
