Be prepared for parenthood

Becoming a mom is a wonderful, life-changing time, but there can be a lot to learn before you meet the new addition to your family. At times, it may feel overwhelming to think about what you need to know before you give birth, especially if this is your first time. That’s why ThedaCare offers prenatal classes to help you and your partner prepare for all the stages of parenthood, from labor and delivery to breastfeeding and baby care.

Studies have shown that being educated in the birth process can reduce the amount of stress in labor. When you understand the labor process, it is easier to allow your body to do what it needs to do. Many new parents find that education through birthing classes, or an online childbirth class, can really help calm their worries and answer many questions.

Talk to your doctor about the types of classes available, and which ones would be best for you. Classes offer flexible scheduling to meet your lifestyle—you can take classes on weekends or in the evenings, in person or online.

Here’s a list of the classes ThedaCare offers, which may vary by location. View all the available classes
