When you walk into ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano, you feel right away that you’re in an environment designed around you and your care needs. Soft colors and a garden create a warm, personal space that welcomes you and your visitors.
Every patient has a private room with plenty of space for their loved ones to spend time with them. There are also family areas where visitors can relax, watch television or access the internet.
Visiting hours and policies
Your visitors play a big part in your recovery, and they are welcome at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano. After 8 p.m., visitors should use the emergency room entrance. For the health and safety of all our patients, please consider visiting another time if you have a cold, flu or sore throat. If you must visit, ask for a mask to wear while you’re in the hospital. Some other things to keep in mind:
- ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano is smoke-free.
- Due to latex allergies, only Mylar balloons are permitted in patient areas.
- Cell phones may interfere with patient equipment and rest. Please check with a nurse to make sure it’s okay to use a cell phone in a patient’s room.
The Courtyard Café is accented by two stories of floor-to-ceiling windows and adjoins the main hospital corridor. The sunny atrium dining area is open to visitors, clinic and hospital staff and volunteers, NWTC nursing students, and the general public.

Wireless Internet Service
ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano provides free wireless internet service. There are computer terminals available in the surgery, and Birth Center family areas.
