Free Program at Riverside Medical Center Shows Benefits of Exercise
Exercise should be part of a person’s lifestyle, providing many benefits. “Exercising regularly helps protect against heart disease, reduces stress, improves overall health, prevents or improves diabetes, and is the key to weight loss,” said Beckie Crisman, a certified diabetes educator at Riverside Medical Center (RMC) in Waupaca.
People can learn how to make it a reality at “I don’t have time to exercise!!!,” a free program offered at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 8, in the Health and Wellness Department at RMC.
Crisman said participants should come prepared to move as the diabetes education staff provides a motivational evening to help encourage exercise. The evening will include real-life testimonials of how to fit exercise in, how doing this could change your life, and a tour of the gym.
“We can get exercise in many different ways, that can be fun, cheap and very simple to do,” said Crisman. “Every minute counts. Just 10 minutes of exercise per day can make a difference.”
