New London Family Medical Center Welcomes Dr. Julie Abboud
Julie Abboud, Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, of the Greenville Foot and Ankle Center, has joined the New London Family Medical Center’s consulting medical staff and is offering foot and ankle surgeries at the hospital.
Dr. Abboud is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. She is also a board-certified wound specialist by the American Board of Wound Management.
Kandi Schlueter, NLFMC’s manager of surgical services, said she is pleased to welcome Dr. Abboud to the hospital.
“Patients have another option if they need foot or ankle surgery in our facility,” said Schlueter. “We are always striving to offer patients the care they need in or near the community where they live.”
Dr. Abboud holds a doctorate in podiatric medicine from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago and completed an intensive three-year residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago where she trained with both podiatric and orthopedic surgeons.
She also trained at the North Chicago Veterans Affairs Medical Center, gaining a vast knowledge of diabetic foot care and wound management, and at St. Anthony’s Hospital – a Catholic not-for-profit hospital treating one of Chicago’s largest poor and under-served communities – where she became skilled at surgeries to correct limb and foot deformities.
Dr. Abboud practiced in Virginia for three years after residency before settling in the Appleton area with her husband, an Appleton native, and their young son.
