He Continues to Lead System’s Cardiovascular Services
ThedaCare named Larry Sobal to the role of system vice president of Cancer and Cardiovascular Services, overseeing the Appleton-based health system’s cancer and cardiac business lines.
Sobal was responsible for ThedaCare’s Cardiovascular Services after the health system merged with Appleton Cardiology Associates in January 2011. He takes over the administration of Cancer Services from Kim Barnas, who was promoted in late 2011 to senior vice president of Appleton Medical Center, Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, ThedaCare At Home, and the Heritage-Peabody Communities.
Before joining ThedaCare as director of cardiovascular services, Sobal served as chief executive officer of Appleton Cardiology Associates from 2004 until the merger with ThedaCare. Before joining Appleton Cardiology Services, Sobal was chief executive officer at Jabas Group Consulting in Grand Chute and a system director of planning and vice president for ThedaCare’s hospitals.
Sobal received his bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting from St. Joseph’s College and earned masters’ degrees in business and health planning from Washington University in St. Louis.
