Civic organizations are an active, vibrant part of life in the Shawano area. Their meetings often include informational programs, and sometimes, by this time of the year, the program scheduler is looking for a few new.  As your group plans its presentations for the next few months, you may wish to consider a new program option:  an update on the once-in-a-lifetime experience of bringing a new hospital to our area.

As you may have seen and heard, ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano is under construction adjacent to ThedaCare Physicians-Shawano. In September of 2015, the Shawano Medical Center staff, hospital operations, and rich community heritage will move into the new medical center.  The result will be a modern, convenient place for Shawano area residents and visitors to receive a broad range of medical services.

You may find that your organization’s members have many questions about the project: Why is it needed, what will it mean to the Shawano community, and what will it mean to each individual’s health care? To answer these questions, one of the Shawano Medical Center leadership team would be happy to share a short presentation about the project and answer your group members’ questions.

The presentation can last from 20-30 minutes and include photos of the project (with a laptop and projector) or a more casual discussion with architect’s drawings.

Our team is available for both daytime and evening meetings. There is no charge for the presentation. We are happy to travel anywhere in Shawano, Menominee or Waupaca counties to meet with your group.

If you would like to schedule a presentation, please contact Carol Ryczek at, or call 715.526.7238. Please  leave a message with a good time to call you back, and the date and time of your meeting.
