School of Radiology

Please review the following presentations which will help you understand more about our program. If you need more information about the role of a Radiologic Technologist or the career, please check out additional presentation under the “Technologist Role” tab.  Viewing these presentations is strongly recommended and program will incorporate some of the information into the interview process.


An ideal candidate:
  • Must have associates degree or higher with minimum GPA of 3.0 
  • Appropriate background in science, math, human anatomy/physiology and medical terminology 
  • CNA or other equivalent patient care experience 
  • In-depth research of profession and program
  • Documented job shadow(s)
  • Strong letters of recommendation
  • Effective communication skills

Radiology Job Shadowing

Due to the large amount of prospective radiography students applying for job shadows, ThedaCare School of Radiologic Technology has a job shadow application for the safety and confidentiality of our patients. Make sure you indicate on the application that you would like to shadow in the radiology departments at either ThedaCare Regional Medical Center of Appleton or Neenah.

Documentation of vaccinations are required to be sent in along with your application. You can visit Wisconsin Immunization Records which is a free service where you can search for and print your results from the state database or you can request copies at your doctor’s office.  Hand written dates will not be accepted.  Email completed application and vaccinations to

Upon review of application, applicants will be notified if they will be scheduled for a shadow.
